Eyelash Faqs

How Long Do They Last?
Eyelash extensions are considered “semi-permanent,” because they can remain in place for the natural cycle of the eyelash itself. A person’s natural eyelash typically falls out every 60 to 90 days and is naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Because of this natural cycle, it is usually necessary to get touch-ups to fill in every two to four weeks.

How Long Does Application Take?
The application of a full set of eyelash extensions typically takes between one and a half to two hours, depending on how many natural lashes you have to put apply extensions to.

Does It Hurt?
The application procedure is painless and relaxing. Clients recline comfortably with their eyes closed during the entire procedure. Most clients just plug in their own iPod or fall asleep.

How Durable Are Lash Extensions?
The eyelash extensions are water resistant. Wearers may swim, exercise and shower worry free. Eyelash extensions do not require a lifestyle change for active people.

Who is not a good candidate for eyelash extensions?
• Unhealthy eyes: pink eyes, Stye, Allergies, etc
• Unhealthy or sensitive skin around the eye area: Recent LASIK surgery.
• Recently done Permanent Makeup, Eye-lift, Micro-dermabrasion, chemical peel, Retin-A, Accutane
Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extension?   You can enjoy these lashes with little need to adjust your lifestyle. Provided you follow the simple maintenance instructions. As long as you are not involved excessively in heat or water activities and treat the lashes with care they will last through the natural lash life cycle and fall off with the natural lash, not before. You can swim, shower and go to the spa as usual so long as these activities are not engaged in excessively.

Can I apply mascara to eyelash extension?
Indeed, one of the main advantages of Eyelash extension is that you don’t have to use mascara. Mascara can be applied between maintenance to maintain a look of fullness. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara along with any type of oil based mascara will dissolve the adhesive and cause your Eyelash extension to fall off.

How often should I get touch-ups?
A natural lash typically sheds every 60 to 90 days and is replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Since Lashes are applied one by one to each individual hair, after 2-4 weeks, approximately 1/3 of the lashes will have cycled out. At this point, touch ups are required to replace the lashes that have completed their life cycle. Touch ups generally take a short time and are relatively inexpensive.

What do I do if I want them removed?
As the natural lashes cycle out and shed, eyelash extension will shed with them. However, if necessary, Lashes can be professionally removed by a Certified Lash Artist using our specially formulated adhesive remover. The removal process normally takes approximately 30 minutes for a full set. Never try to remove eyelash extensions on your own. Damage can be caused by pulling the extensions off with the natural lash; removing the natural lash before it is ready to shed.  PLUS…!!!  You don’t have to worry about damaging your lashes! Our Certified Lash Artist uses a strong eyelash bond that is applied around your lashes, actually protecting them from wear and tear, optimizing the growth of your own lashes!!
